Finding Items and Rewards

Underkeep rewards careful exploration. The official game description highlights handcrafted dungeons, hidden passages, puzzles, and items to collect, but does not publish a complete loot table or a coordinate list. Treat every item location as something to verify in the game rather than copying a drop table from a different Underkeep.

Search each area methodically

Move through the dungeon one section at a time. Check side paths and suspicious spaces before leaving an area, and interact with objects that look connected to a puzzle or hidden passage. When a route is blocked, mark it on the automap so the party can return after finding new information.

Make loot decisions with the party in mind

When you find equipment or another useful item, compare its description with the needs of the four heroes. Consider whether it improves a role, covers a weakness, or helps the party conserve resources. The best pickup is not always the one with the largest single bonus; it is the one that makes the group more reliable.

Keep a discovery log

Record the area and visible clue for each confirmed item. Separate known locations from places that still need investigation. Do not label an object as a boss drop, quest reward, or guaranteed treasure unless the game confirms that connection.
